As an artist working with paint and pencil has been an important way for me to connect with the world around me and within. For me, each painting has a life of its own, color and movement are essential elements to each composition which in turn directs where the painting takes me. I play music while I work it helps me to be less self-conscious of the observing and mark making, which I think keeps the piece true from my inner eye. When this happens the viewer hopefully will see something of their interpretation of the work.
